A team of United Nations experts reported on Monday that there were "reasonable grounds to believe" sexual violence, including rape and gang rape, occurred at several locations during the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Hamas militants.
The team - led by U.N. special envoy for sexual violence in conflict Pramila Patten - visited Israel between Jan. 29 and Feb. 14 on a mission intended to gather, analyze and verify information on sexual violence linked to the Oct. 7 attacks.
"Credible circumstantial information, which may be indicative of some forms of sexual violence, including genital mutilation, sexualized torture, or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, was also gathered," read the 24-page U.N. report.
Palestinian militant group Hamas has repeatedly rejected accusations of sexual violence.
Hamas fighters attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killing around 1,200 people and seizing 253 hostages, according to Israeli tallies. Israel's retaliation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip has since killed around 30,000 Palestinians, health authorities in the Hamas-run enclave say.
"The mission team found clear and convincing information that some hostages taken to Gaza have been subjected to various forms of conflict-related sexual violence and has reasonable grounds to believe that such violence may be ongoing," the U.N. report said.
The team said a "fully-fledged investigation" would be required to establish the overall magnitude, scope and specific attribution for the sexual violence.

It took 150 days, but even the UN has admitted that Hamas terrorists perpetrated rape, gang rape, sexual violence, including genital mutilation, and sexualized torture.
The female hostages need to be freed now.
Where are the feminists? Where are the people who say they stand with women?
@GenerousMothGreen2mos2MO
You are a flat out liar.
@Ind3pend3ntJaguarDemocrat2mos2MO
To those pro-Palestinian protesters who somehow believe Hamas are "freedom fighters" or that they want to lift the Palestinian people, read this account of their unspeakable brutality You can't tell me these were isolated incidents perpetrated by a rogue element. This is who they truly are. This is how they value women. Does this fit the progressive ideal now? Be wary of who you elevate in your protests. They are not your friends and would do the same to you.
@UniqueHouseRepublican2mos2MO
People say “what other choice did Hamas have?”
They seek to excuse this type of behaviour. It’s not compassion, it is dangerous ignorance.
@DrearyVenisonPatriot2mos2MO
Meanwhile on campuses across America, students treat Hamas as if they are the "Rebels" from Star Wars standing against some bizarre idea of the "Empire" - in which Israel is burdened with every slander imaginable while becoming the stand-in for whatever issue the "resistance" is most outraged by in the moment.
Life rarely presents us with such clean, binary choices - and there is no such thing as a conflict whose most gruesome events are not borne both without - and within - the bodies of the women trapped within it.

Anat Schwartz and Adam Sella, the NYT’s assigned helpers for Jeffrey Gettleman’s “Hamas mass rape” hoax article, coerced a source into providing video by insisting their participation would aid Israel’s hasbara efforts
That’s according to the source in an interview with Israel’s YNet
https://ynet.co.il/laisha/article/h1gzxtbtp…
But what did the video show? It depicted the body of Gal Abdush, the so called “girl in the black dress” who was found killed next to her destroyed car, with burns on her head, in a small dress with obvious signs of… Read more
@LocustJoshWorking Family2mos2MO
She was burned alive which is terrible enough, by unknown parties, but there was no clear trauma to her parts just like the family said.
it was an extremely graphic video.
@V0terChamoisGreen2mos2MO
If she was that burned, it was probably from IDF helicopters since they were shooting everyone in sight with Hellfire Missiles.
@LocustJoshWorking Family2mos2MO
the location of this was hard to explain... It wasn't out in the open like that but it definitely felt off.
Also, there was no context to the people in the video or who was taking it... also no other bodies around.
@E1ectoralMagpieGreen2mos2MO
Pramila Patten laundered the “Hamas mass rape” hoax through the UN
Patten was hosted and coached by Israel’s Foreign Ministry and Yossi Landau, the infamous ZAKA liar who fabricated tales of a fetus cut from a pregnant woman, beheaded babies and more
@R1ghtWingDemocratSocialist2mos2MO
According to ZAKA, Patten’s visit was the result of Israel lobby pressure on the UN
Her tour was overseen by ZAKA and Landau, notorious fabulists who gifted her with a “Never Again” plaque which she wore around her neck.
In 2022, Patten falsely claimed Russia was giving Viagra to its soldiers to rape Ukrainian women
She later fell for a prank call during which she admitted she had no evidence for the claim, and was a dupe for Ukrainian propaganda
@E1ectoralMagpieGreen2mos2MO
Patten’s visit appears designed to salvage the crumbling and discredited Israeli narrative put forward by The NY Times, which is now in internal crisis over the article by Gettleman, Schwartz and Sella
@Jovial1952Republican2mos2MO
Why haven’t more dead rape victims come forward to testify about their rapes after these sadists killed them?
@R1ghtWingDemocratSocialist2mos2MO
I understand it's very inconvenient that Israeli propagandists haven't been able to get their story straight on whether every purported Hamas rape victim is dead or alive.
It's additionally inconvenient that the family of Gal Abdush, a slain Israeli whom the NYT called a "symbol" of Hamas rape, has said that she was not raped and accused the NYT of misleading them and exploiting her death.
Another inconvenience is that every single living person who's claimed to have witnessed Oct. 7th rape, or evidence of it, has been caught in multiple contradictions and lies, including the Zaka volunteer who spread the fake beheaded babies claim.
If you wish to become the first person to justify all of these glaring holes and refute those of us who've debunked this story, I invite you to try.
