If Earth's resources are finite, can human innovation truly circumvent all natural limitations, or is there a breaking point?

 @9H326BY from California answered…6mos6MO

No non-organic resources are exclusive to earth and can be extracted from other celestial bodies.

 @9H2ZPYX from California answered…6mos6MO

I believe that there is only so much we can develop, the only limitation we have is the ability to create an invention.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

How would an unending supply of resources shape your thoughts on population growth and urban development?

 @9JKWF32 from New York answered…4mos4MO

Only grow when it’s needed and too much of anything is bad.

 @9JLYSTZ from Idaho disagreed…4mos4MO

If we had unending resources, we'd have to more fully consider how that would shape our society. While we as individuals may think that the "only what is needed" approach is more beneficial, there's more at play here. We don't know what this would be like and it could up-end society or provide a more agreeable world where people were taken care of. We just don't know. I think the topic is interesting, however, and deserves further research.

 @9JKXDDS from Texas answered…4mos4MO

Even if the resources were unlimited, we simply do not have the space needed to support an ever growing population, and doing so would take a toll on our planet's health

How might the constant belief in abundance affect our attitude toward environmental conservation and responsibility?

 @9H2ZM2MDemocrat from California answered…6mos6MO

The constant belief in abundance associated with Cornucopianism can foster complacency towards environmental conservation, as it relies heavily on optimism, technological solutions, and may undermine the urgency and importance of sustainable practices.

 @9H2ZPYX from California answered…6mos6MO

The belief of cornucopianism allows society to embellish new technological advances to help live our lives.

In an abundance-driven future, what do you think would define personal success and fulfillment?

 @9KJ3TB9 from California answered…3mos3MO

Everyone has their own goals in life, nothing should define personal success or fulfillment.

I think this varies from person to person. Everyone has different definitions of success and what it means to them to be fulfilled.

Imagine a world where technological breakthroughs have solved hunger; how would this change international relations?

 @9KP3FSF from Tennessee answered…2mos2MO

I feel like governments around the world would start to restrict access to many forms of technology as a way to start taxing citizens because if the world isn’t in debt, going through hunger, or famine then they wont be able to capitalize on their greed

 @9KT9HN9Peace and Freedom from North Carolina agreed…2mos2MO

The government likes to always have something that they are in control of and if they don't have hunger to weigh over people then they will weigh access to technology over them.

 @9KT7MJTPeace and Freedom from California answered…2mos2MO

This would change international relations because more allies would be created.

Does the concept of unlimited resources make you more hopeful or skeptical about the future, and why?

 @9KW7XZ7 from California answered…2mos2MO

It leads me be skeptical because yes having unlimited resources sounds useful but at what cost do we get these unlimited resources.
